November 10, 2007, Coco’s temperature dropped to 84 degrees Fahrenheit, a clear sign that she would deliver within 24 hours. Corrie Van der Ende in Crescent Beach performed the surgery. When I walked in, she didn’t really believe Coco was pregnant. I knew she was because I have seen before how she carries her up under her ribs. To be sure it wasn’t a false pregnancy, Corrie did a quick sonogram just to be sure there was something in there. To her surprise, there were three; two boys and a girl – just as in her first two litters. However this time, they were all pieds.
They weighed 8, 8.5 and 10 ozs; and extremely aggressive. Within seconds they were hollering and latching on to a nipple. Past puppies took work to come alive and also took a lot of work to attach to a nipple. These pups didn’t even care what shape nipple they took.
